The Late Movie

Scene from The Late Movie

I am currently working on my final film titled The Late Movie for my 4th year at Sheridan College. The story is about a teen named Landon, who finds himself on a crazy adventure after receiving a strange phone call earlier that day. I am animating all in Adobe Flash Cs4...which will be my first attempt at full traditional-style animation using the program.

The following pieces are locations that I am currently working on..

Gorilla Warfare

Still playing catch-up with last year's posts. I thought I would post my third year film on here. Go give it some love..

Life Drawing: The Final Chapter

The end of last semester was also the end of Figure Analysis in my studies at Sheridan. It was a fun year of costume and amazing models.
Here are a few pieces from my last portfolio:

Maggie Net

Here are a couple of sample pages from the childrens book I have been working on titled
Maggie Net and the Laws of Attraction. The entire book is done in Adobe Flash - since learning the program this summer I have been exploring a range of style and effects.

This is my second book with author David Clark. My first book, Tommy and the Talking Tree is available online: link

3rd Year Randoms

Group film and co-op work put a halt on blog updates for a while. Here are a few random pieces I did during the 2009 year...

Photoshop Goodness

Photoshop has become such an important tool for most artists in digitally rendering images. It is fast with no mess to clean up, and allows for several variations of the same image in mere moments.
Final Layout: 2nd year

However, I still prefer to use traditional mediums when given the choice. I have always enjoyed not only being able to touch and feel something real, but also maintain a skill that not everyone still carries out.

I would like to develop better skills in photoshop as I progress as an artist, however I often find myself leaving pieces unfinished when I do them digitally. Layout:Scott Caple. Drawing and painting: me

Staring at a screen for hours isnt an ideal past time for me, and the ability to use "brushes" cheapens the experience for me. Yet, there is always something new to learn in the program and now that everything has gone digital I am forced to continue to use it.
